Saturday, June 13, 2015, contributed to glorious history as Swedish Prince Carl Philip (36) tied the knot with former reality TV star, Sofia Hellqvist (30). The grand, royal ceremony, taking place at in Stockholm’s Royal Palace chapel, was a fairytale wedding. Both bride and groom seemed ecstatic, exchanging wedding vows after a four-year long relationship. They were unable to hide their broad smiles and make a spectacular entrance in front of family, friends and members of European royalty.
Third to the throne, Duke of Värmland brought sovereignty to top model Sofia, who is now entitled as Princess Sofia. The Swedish royal family welcomed her with open arms, great warmth and enthusiasm. Prince, who is a Major in Swedish Navy, looked dapper in a navy tuxedo, a military cap and an armed force batch around his neck hanging down from his bow tie. Beside him, Sofia chose to wear an elegant white lace, full-sleeved gown created by a Swedish designer, Ida Sjöstedt. Her hair was parted from the middle and neatly tied back in a low bun, further fastened with a veil.
Dressed to nines, new Princess of Sweden walked gracefully post-rituals, holding a lovely roses bunch in one hand, and the other one held firmly with her new royal husband. She accessorized her drawn-out wedding dress with a pair of glittering drop earrings and a stunning diamond tiara (a precious welcome gift from her in-laws) consisting of striking emeralds at peaks. These fascinating luscious green gemstones added a colorful twist to a bride’s all-white attire.
Although, Princess Philip is a more modern woman, we noticed she blended well with Royalty. In fact, her radiant bridal looks brought tears of joy to Philip and his sister, Victoria. Philip’s choice of a sleek diamond eternity wedding band for his Empress symbolizes their everlasting shared bond.
Carl’s mother and sisters introduced an outstanding touch of aristocracy to nuptials as well. While mom-to-be, Princess Madeleine arrived in a luxurious pink gown with her husband and daughter, Crown Princess Victoria wore a dusky white gown to share smiles on their brother’s big day. Queen Silvia (mother) stunned all guests as she walked with husband King Carl XVI Gustaf, in an embellished orchid gown, a diamond necklace, ravishing diamond and sapphire earrings, and a matching diamond and sapphire tiara. Adding to imperialism, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, Queen Maxima of Netherlands and Queen Sonja of Norway also showed their benign presence to bless the wedded couple. We were thrilled to see extravagant jewelry and incredible tiaras.
Following a romantic and heartwarming wedding celebration, the newlyweds rode in a lavish horse carriage for a sumptuous gala dinner. We wish them a blissful life together and bless their hearts for many years to come.
