Prince George’s Royal Birthday

Can you believe it’s been two years since we anxiously awaited the birth of Prince William’s and Duchess Catherine’s first child? The adorable Prince George turns two on July 22nd (Wednesday)! While he is a toddler, he has already made a big impression as a British Royal, a budding fashion trendsetter, a protective brother, and even a public magnet.

To mark this grand occasion, Kensington Palace has released an official photo of the royal toddler grinning in daddy’s arms. “This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for The Duke and Duchess and their family. They are very pleased to share this picture as they celebrate Prince George’s second birthday,” said a spokesperson from Kensington Palace.

The photo is part of an official picture series taken by Mario Testino, the internationally renowned fashion photographer, in the garden of Sandringham Palace, following the christening of Princess Charlotte. The Peruvian photographer, among other career highlights, photographed Princess Diana in 1997 for Vanity Fair. He wrote on his Instagram account that he was overwhelmed and honored to be chosen to take portraits of Princess Charlotte’s christening.

George, who is third in line to the throne, has been a huge media attraction since his birth in 2013. Whether his baptism, trip to Australia and New Zealand, or his first Christmas, this little bundle of joy makes headlines. In order to celebrate Prince George’s special birthday, let’s take a trip down memory lane to see how much the future king has grown.
