Katy Perry and Lady Gaga are head-to-head at the MTV Europe Music Awards. The US singers have grabbed five nominations each for the annual awards bash.
Lady Gaga, who recently dominated the MTV Video Music Awards in a meat dress, and invited flak from PETA, is up for Best Pop, Female, Live Act, Song (Bad Romance) and Video (Telephone).
Closely following the announcement, Lady Gaga latest headliner is as she joined a group of former serviceman and women discharged under Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell for a rally in Maine urging a repeal of the controversial policy.
Lady Gaga echoed gay soldiers, “Equality is the prime rib of America, but because I’m gay I don’t get to enjoy the greatest cut of meat my country has to offer,”
“I thought equality was nonnegotiable,” she added.
“Our new law is called ‘If you don’t like it, go home,” she exclaimed to wild applause from the 2,000-strong audience.
