Life. Camera. Action. The poster for 84th Annual Academy Awards was unveiled by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Wednesday.
Created by graphic designer Anthony Goldschmidt and Mark and Karen Crawford of the design firm Blood and Chocolate, the poster under the line, “Life. Camera. Action.” is paying homage to several winners of the classic gold statue.
It’s featuring the Oscar statue next to the posters from “Gone with the Wind” (1939), “Casablanca” (1943), “Giant” (1956), “The Sound of Music” (1965), “The Godfather” (1972), “Driving Miss Daisy” (1989), “Forrest Gump” (1994) and “Gladiator” (2000).
The tagline on the poster ‘Celebrate the movies in all of us’ is truly expressing the role of movies in our lives. Tom Sherka, Academy President, said in a statement released on Wednesday, “Whether it’s a first date or a holiday gathering with friends or family, movies are a big part of our memory. The Academy Awards not only honor the excellence of these movies, but also celebrate what they mean to us as a culture and to each of us individually.”
The nominations for 84th Academy Awards will be announced live on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 5:30 PM. And as the awards will air on Sunday, February 26, 2012 once again we will see the stars in new avatars. So let’s wait and watch who will be the show stopper and who will alarm and amaze with their marvelous fashion senses? What will be the new trend in jewelry and what color will paint the new fashion flair? We are anxious to admire the svelte style of divas and love to find the best flair of the season.
If we talk about the 83rd Academy Awards, it was Anna Hathaway and Celine Dion who commanded the attention with their mesmerizing outfits and breathtaking jewelry. The cute and promising Hailee Steinfeld like a fairy in her Marchesa dress and as usual the sensual Helly Berry radiated in a nude, crystal encrusted gown.
Once again the divas will put the red carper on fire with their stunning style. We have high expectations for what’s to come this year?
