Mr. and Mrs Brand were low profile since their wedding in India three weeks ago. But newlyweds Katy Perry and Russell Brand smashed, making their first public appearance together as a married couple at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Madrid. They looked happier than ever.

Katy walked away a winner from the show, nabbing the Best Video award for her summer hit “California Gurls.” She said on stage:”Thank you so much. I really want to thank you guys ’cause I was just onstage performing and you are the best f—ing crowd in Europe.
