Cannes Controversy and Color

Cannes, Cannes, Cannes! This echoing famous name of French Film Festival is a star-studded dream coming true. Cannes is finally here, showcasing irresistible beauty and glamour as each day unfolds. Our last post covered how sizzling beauties stunned us at opening ceremony, and how they heated up the Red Carpet.

Today, we will talk about what’s new this year; what never has taken place ever before. Speaking along these same lines, three things have managed to be in limelight this year, and these are black color, golden color and ‘flatgate’ controversy. Let’s elaborate about them in detail:

Golden Color:

Glamorous gold color needs no embellishments or introductions to manifest its beauty. It is self-sufficient and has inspired our beloved celebrities to drape themselves in Gold. Below are ones that sprinkled golden magic in Cannes Film Festival 2015.

Kristina Bazan took away our breath with her liquid gold body-con gown.

Irina Shayk bedazzled us with her side-cut golden gown. She wore golden heels; revealing golden glamour from top to bottom.

Paris Hilton left us in awe as she stunned us in a slashed embroidery dress.

Russian Model Natasha Poly provided a ‘WOW factor’ in body hugging gown and plunging frontline.

Swedish Model Victoria Silvstedt dazzled in her sheer outfit.

Romanian model Catrinel Marlon wore tiered pale gold gown as jaws hit the floor.

Black Color:

Bewitching black color is always a star favorite. This slimming shade highlights the depths of the personality, and creates a sizzling sensational look. Cannes was not aloof, and they witnessed some smoldering hot black dresses. Let’s check out who wore black and left us speechless.

Cate Blanchett seemed to be a complete showstopper in her lengthy black Armani Prive gown.

The Victoria’s Secret Angel, Adriana Lima, stunned us in her tea-length LBD.

Eva Longoria wore a black Versace dress, complemented by black lace-up gladiators.

Amy Poehler was all smiling in her Stella McCartney gown, featuring a waist-cinching gold belt. Her black platforms completed her elegant outfit.

Portuguese model Sara Sampaio wore a black Vionnet confection, featuring side and keyhole cutouts.

Indian actress, Sonam Kapoor, brought a balanced hot mix of gold and black colors. She wore an Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla dress.

Natalie Portman leaves everyone behind by heating up the event. For photo call, ‘A Tale of Love and Darkness’, she wore a black colored butt-baring dress. V-neck beaded dress by Rodarte had a sheer skirt, showcasing her black underwear briefs, and of course her toned assets!

The Flatgate Controversy:

This year’s Cannes Film Festival is labeled as ‘Year of La Femme’, but the event surely caught fire when reportedly, women were turned away from Red Carpet due to ‘High heels enforcement policy’. Rumors existed that many women were stopped from attending gala screenings. One was even sent back for wearing ankle boots and tights, and another was actually physically pushed away by security for wearing platform sandals.

Thierry Fremaux, Festival Director, denied existence of a high-heels enforcement policy. On the other hand, Emily Blunt said the news was “very disappointing.” We don’t officially know the truth, and who is telling a lie. No matter who you sided with, the event surely stumbled upon the ‘flatgate’ controversy.

What do you think about Cannes’s controversy? Do you believe Natalie was overlooked with her transparent dress? Do you concur it’s wise to force women to wear high heels, even if they are not comfortable? What would you do with millions of worldwide viewers watching?
